Mad for Mimi

When we grow up, we want to be just like Mimi Weddell (you may remember her as Mrs. Blatch, Stanford’s WASP-y grandmother from “Sex and the City”). Mimi, who passed away in 2009 at the age of 94, was an eclectic fixture in New York widely known for her love of hats (a Matchbook girl if we ever knew one!). We nearly melted when we saw these images of her Manhattan apartment as published in the October 2005 issue of Vogue Casa. If you ask us, the Tim Walker-shot editorial is absolutely scrumptious – her bathroom and library are to die for. What do you think? Do you love, or is it a bit too Edie Beale for your taste?

I love it, actually. I could never live in it, but it looks like it suits this grande & goofy dame perfectly. I think that’s the best definition of (and adherence to) style that there is.
the photos look like wonderful, whimsical paintings.
i’m not sure that i could live that way on a day-to-day basis, but i would have LOVED to have hung out with mimi!!
