Mr. Boddington’s Classics

We adore luxury stationer Mr. Boddington’s Studio (remember our feature here?) and were delighted to learn they’d collaborated with Penguin Classics on a set of new editions. Each cover is positively charming and the ribbon marker makes for such a sweet touch. Can’t wait to give them as holiday gifts!

Little Women / Sense & Sensibility / Alice in Wonderland / Wuthering Heights / Pride & Prejudice / Jane Eyre

This week we took a peek at the bookshelf of style maven Rachel Nguyen of That’s Chic. The girl has a brilliant sense of humor, envy-inducing closet, and as we suspected, a swell reading list too! :)

On my nightstand… I’ve managed to avoid Harry Potter spoilers for like what, 15 years almost? Wow, that’s a long time! But I’m slowly getting through the books and currently reading book 5, Order of the Phoenix.

On my coffee table… Not to sound cliche, but my MKA Influence book is still my favorites – partially because it was my first and my little brother used his allowance money to buy it for my birthday! How sweet is that?

On my shelf… I want to eventually reread my high-school literature; Catcher in the Rye comes to mind.

Today we are honored to be sharing the book picks of event planner Jordan Ferney of Oh Happy Day. We’re slightly obsessed with her blog’s DIY projects (confetti tablecloth anyone?), adventures in Paris (she currently lives there with her beautiful family), and impeccable product picks. Read on to discover the books currently inspiring Jordan…

On my nightstand… I just finished the Steve Jobs Biography. I loved it and identified with him on certain levels. I’m fascinated by him.

On my coffee table… I just got Kiriko Shirobayashi’s book Beyond. It’s lots of landscape photography — really beautiful work.

On my shelf… I have kids so I read a lot of children’s books (every day over and over). I love Halibut Jackson. It’s about a little boy who is shy and makes himself clothes that blend in with his environment. The story is so sweet and the illustrations are perfect.

This week we’re pleased to be exploring the bookshelf of the charming Haleigh of Making Magique. The stylish American in Paris chronicles her envy inducing adventures on her personal style blog and we simply can’t get enough! A few of Haleigh’s favorite titles include:

On my nightstand… Super Sad True Love Story by Gary Shteyngart – very funny and clever!

On my coffee table… Pugs in Public – I share Katie’s pug obsession.

On my shelf… The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway – a favorite for any expat!

For our second edition of On Her Shelf we are delighted to have the oh-so-stylish Roséline of {this is glamorous}. We’ve spent hours on end swooning over her whimsical blog and just knew she’d have some fantastic reads up her sleeves. Read on to discover what’s on this London-based Matchbook girl’s shelf!

On my nightstand… I have been switching from flipping through Parisian Chic by Ines de la Fressange and re-reading The Great Gatsby — always seem to be doing a million things at once…

On my coffee table… Chanel: The Vocabulary of Style — filled with stunning photographs by Horst P. Horst, Helmut Newton, Patrick Demarchelier and Richard Avedon. It also comes in a cloth-bound sleeve the most astonishingly lovely shade of pink!

On my shelf… Anne of Green Gables — puffed sleeves, kindred spirits, and true love — what more is there to say?

The inaugural post of yet another new Daily Spark series! In “On Her Shelf” we’ll gather book recommendations from tastemakers we admire. First up? The lovely Blair of Atlantic-Pacific. She’s got style in spades and great taste in books too!

ON MY NIGHTSTAND… I’m currently re-reading The Glass Castle

ON MY COFFEE TABLE… The Trench Book (this chic Assouline title is an ode to one of my favorite fashion classics!)

ON MY SHELF… The Catcher in the Rye is an old favorite!

Thanks for sharing, Blair! Stay tuned for more book recs from Matchbook girls you admire ;)
