La Pochette
These neon striped Clare Vivier clutches have caused us to seriously swoon. Each is made of natural undyed leather silk screened in your choice of vivid pink, blue or green. A simple, sleek statement for spring. Which would you choose?
tip of the hat
We’re still glowing from the excitement of Will and Kate’s nuptials. Amongst all the beauty, pomp and circumstance one name was impossible to miss (even at 4am!), that of London milliner Philip Treacy. Above is a selection of hats from his Spring Summer 2011 RTW collection. We’d love to know, would you don one yourself if the occasion arose?
For Mommie Dearest
These fabulously quirky Mother’s Day cards by Mr. Boddington’s Studio would make for quite the snail mail treat. Here at Matchbook we don’t know what we’d do without our fearless, wise, and always encouraging mothers and grandmothers. As far as we’re concerned they really do “make the world go around!”
A Matchbook Abode
Our team was ecstatic to see our very own Katie Armour featured as Refinery29′s Girl Next Door today! Their talented crew stopped by her apartment in the San Francisco bay area to talk style and sneak a peek at the Matchbook magic. You can read the full interview here.

Literary Letterpress
This series of letterpress printed author portraits is right up the Matchbook girl’s alley! Each was originally illustrated by the talented Katherine Codega of Boston, Massachusetts. The only question is which author would you choose for your wall – Woolf, Austen, or Poe? We’re tempted to snag all three!

PS. If you haven’t already, read up on Marais USA’s co-founder and “it girl” Haley Boyd in Matchbook‘s debut issue.
Lazy Days of Summer
This “vintage” Charlotte Ronson video showcasing designs from her spring 2008 collection has us longing for the lazy days of summer. Her sister Annabelle Dexter-Jones looks darling in all the summery frocks, don’t you agree? Now if only we had a cottage in the country for frolicking barefoot to folksy Carla Bruni tunes! Someday… A Matchbook summer camp perhaps?
Design Crush: Alanna Cavanagh
These charming illustrations by Toronto-based artist Alanna Cavanagh are almost too lovely for words. A client had requested sketches with a “Dorothy Draper sensibility” – what a dream job! We’d love to frame her pen and ink depiction of Maria Callas’ vanity chair on our wall. So chic!
the perfect match!
These pastel matchbooks from Twig & Thistle make some of the most darling Save The Dates we’ve ever seen – to top it off, they’re letterpress printed with gold metallic ink. Oh, and don’t despair, your friends and loved ones will have no excuse not to slap it on the fridge as it contains a magnetic back. The perfect match indeed :)
